Mahatma Yoga Ashram is surrounded by mountains and situated right on the banks of Ganges. “Quiet and peaceful”, “shanti’ are some of the terms our guests use to describe our ashram. And with those surroundings it makes it easy to let go of outside pressures and to start living a simple, if Spartan daily schedule. Natural sounds of birds singing in the morning, beautiful view of Ganges, silver shiny beach and open sky greet one every day. We are walking distance from the town. The ashram and environs are safe for all kinds of travelers: solo, couples and family. The ashram schedule is well structured and simple. This will help you to plan your time to relax, meditate, and pursue any chosen activity while exploring this beautiful city and following the retreat program. Our retreats are run throughout the year and we prefer to start every Monday. You can arrive on Sunday and can enjoy our complimentary meals and stay to start fresh from Monday. Although if you coming between week time please advise in advance, please note Sunday will be free day

Vikendra Singh

After graduating from H.N.B. Garhwal University (B.A) Vikendra did Masters in Yoga in the same University. Vikendra is well acquainted in traditional Hatha yoga as well as Hatha flow and Ashtanga yoga. He furthermore has great knowledge and teaching experience in Iyengar yoga with good emphasis on precision and alignment in the performance of yoga asanas. Vikendra is well known as one of the most patient and humble teacher among his students. Vikendra devotes time for each student and guides them on a personal level, which is the unique asset of his teaching thus makes his teaching with fun and easy. He is expertise of breathing technique during the yoga asana session. Yogendra Singh Negi (Yogi Ji)

Born in the North Indian Himalaya in an spiritual family environment and initiated to the path of yoga and meditation in early childhood, Yogendra Singh Negi had a greater impact of nature and natural vibrations. Educated and guided by yogis and scholars from his age of 12, Mr. Negi gained Masters in Commerce, diploma in Software Engineering and diploma in Yogic Science and Naturopathy before doing doctorate in Naturopathy. He is a scholar of Hatha, Astanga and Kriya yoga and teaches both philosophical and theoretical aspects of these fields of yogic science. Besides being yoga and meditation teacher, he is the Reiki master of Mahatma Yoga Ashram. Students know him as Yogi Ji and highly appreciate his inspiring humours.
